In CloudShark 1.9 we added the ability to play back RTP streams so that you can replay voice data embedded in packet captures for call quality analysis. When we launched this feature, CloudShark supported G.711, G.729, and GSM voice codecs, used by many voice and mobile providers.
Since then, we’ve gotten a lot of calls (ha!) for the addition of other audio codecs to the system to be able to play them back as well. With our most recent maintenance release of CloudShark 2.0, we’ve added g.722 codec support, at the request of both our customers and the packet surfing community! In addition to being available for CloudShark Appliance users, it’s running on CloudShark.org as well. You can check out an example capture with a G.722 example here:
Go ahead and click on analysis tools–>RTP streams and give it a listen. We won’t give away what the recording is.
Okay, maybe we will.
